Tokyo – April 14, 2025 – TOPPAN Inc. (TOPPAN), a TOPPAN Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc. (TYO: 7911), will team up with two subsidiaries in the décor materials business, INTERPRINT GmbH1 (headquartered in Arnsberg, Germany) and Toppan Interamerica Inc.2 (headquartered in Georgia, USA), to participate at interzum 2025 in Cologne, Germany, from May 20 to 23.

Held in Cologne every two years since 1959, interzum is one of the world’s largest trade fairs for furniture production and interior design. It attracts a large number of buyers, architects, office equipment suppliers, and interior designers from countries throughout the world and provides a platform for industry players to engage and garner information on cutting-edge products and services as well as the latest market trends.

In its décor materials business, TOPPAN caters to global markets by designing and developing products aligned with the quality requirements and environment-related needs of each region. Under the concept of “New Dimension,” the TOPPAN Group companies at this year’s interzum will showcase their latest décor materials and decorative sheets for the furniture and interior industries as well as proposing eco-friendly products for a sustainable society and printing technologies for the future.

Global Expansion of TOPPAN’s Décor Materials Business

Since launching its décor material printing business in 1956, TOPPAN has developed and sold a range of decorative surfacing materials for furniture, fittings, floors, and more. Establishing its first overseas sales office for the décor materials business in 1971, TOPPAN has since expanded its business globally, including the US, Europe, and Asia. TOPPAN is leveraging synergies with TOPPAN Group companies such as INTERPRINT, which has production sites in 10 countries, and Toppan Interamerica. These efforts are bolstering the TOPPAN Group’s capability to deliver the designs it has developed for a wide range of use cases, with offerings including recycled and biomass materials.

Products on Show at interzum 2025

The TOPPAN Group will showcase the latest décor material designs enabled by leading-edge technologies as well as proposals for solutions that support a sustainable society, next-generation experiences making use of digital technologies, and new possibilities for décor materials for the global market.

・Decorative sheets

Decorative sheets
Targeted at the furniture and interior industries, these decorative sheets are used in the residential and commercial sectors. TOPPAN will showcase two types—a coated paper type and a film type using an olefin-based (non-PVC) material. The coated paper type is used for surfaces of housing interiors, such as furniture and fittings. The product can be customized to customer requirements, changing the base paper type, adding functions such as oil and scratch resistance, and modifying the texture of the material. The film type delivers superior surface properties and processability and also limits generation of harmful substances on incineration.

Based on interior trend insights from regions around the world, TOPPAN provides designs focused on future lifestyles. TOPPAN will also propose new possibilities for spatial design by presenting multiple eco-friendly solutions, including recycled and biomass products rooted in the concept of a circular and decarbonized society.

・Dualsurf™ transparent decorative film

Dualsurf™ transparent decorative film
Dualsurf™ film is a decorative sheet that uses transparent decorative technologies developed by evolving TOPPAN’s techniques for rendering designs such as wood grain. Dualsurf™ enables a screen to be concealed but also to display content in the conventional way. The TOPPAN booth at interzum will feature a mock-up of Dualsurf™ film used in an interior. This integration produces sophisticated interiors in which content and information blend seamlessly into the space.

・PSC Extreme
(For markets outside Japan)

PSC Extreme
TOPPAN’s Premium Surface Collection (PSC) is a range of decorative sheets using non-PVC resin that are provided to markets outside Japan. The top-of-the-range PSC Extreme uses surface processing attuned to wood grain designs to create a realistic natural texture akin to that of natural materials.
